League founder Jeff Schmidt has officially announced the 2020 schedules for the B-Car and Cup Series. It can be found under the Series tab on the top of this page.
What things are new or different? The headline is the inaugural season of the SimPossible Cup Series, which will be racing NASCAR Cup cars on Wednesday nights. The B-Car Series will move to Monday nights.
We will follow the real NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Cup Series schedules once again. The B-Car Series will be our new "Development Series" and the Cup Series will be known as our "Premier Series". 3WideTV will be broadcasting all races once again for the third consecutive year.
Race lengths will be shorter in the B-Car Series, compared to last season. The Cup Series will race about 50% or more of an actual Cup race distance. The B-Car Series will have the same playoff elimination format as 2019. The Cup playoffs will field 16 cars, following the real-life Cup Series playoffs format over 10 races.
How about the schedule? Pocono will become the first double-header in SPRL history. Miami is no longer the season finale. Indianapolis moves to the 4th of July weekend, while Daytona will be the regular season finale for the Cup Series. Darlington will host the first playoff race for the Cup Series, and Bristol starts the B-Car Series playoffs. The Tennessee short track will host a playoff race for the first time ever, swapping dates with Dover. Phoenix will be home for the Championship 4 Race for both series, where we will crown our 2020 champions.
Fuel percentage will be new in 2020 and will affect all races. It will be shown on the schedule as a percentage off the maximum tank, making races more realistic.
